Weston, WV (July 12, 2025) – On Tuesday, June 10, a man was killed after a two-vehicle crash outside of Weston. The fatal accident was reported on Interstate 79 near the 101 mile marker at around 4 p.m. It was later revealed that the victim was driving a Nissan Armada when he crashed into the rear of a tractor-trailer.

Emergency responders were quickly dispatched to provide aid to the involved parties. Despite life-saving aid from responding paramedics, the driver of the Nissan sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The deceased victim was later identified as former state lawmaker, 48-year-old Doug Skaff. The driver of the commercial truck was not harmed in the collision. The interstate was closed for roughly two hours while local authorities were present. No further information on the deadly accident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is being managed by local emergency crews.
