Mt Nebo, WV (May 6, 2025) – On Monday, May 5, one person was killed and another was hurt after a car accident in Mount Nebo. The deadly crash took place on US-19 near US-41 early that morning. Local reports revealed that a driver headed southbound on US-19 hit a West Virginia Division of Highways truck at a stoplight.
Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene to provide aid to the involved parties. A passenger was transported to a local hospital for the treatment of critical injuries. The driver, later identified as Ronald Carelli, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the WV DOH truck was not hurt in the crash. The area was temporarily closed as local authorities were present. No further information on the crash is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is in progress.
