Milton, WV (May 25, 2025) – On Sunday, May 25, a man was killed and others were injured after a car accident in the Milton area. The fatal collision took place on Interstate 64 at mile marker 31 in Cabell County early that morning at around 5:45 a.m. Local reports revealed that the deceased party was driving on the interstate when he got a flat tire and stopped on the roadway.

The driver, later identified as 20-year-old Stephen Green of Ashland, KY, had his hazard lights on in the road. A construction worker who was near the scene tried to help Green move his vehicle and got into the front passenger seat. It was then that the car was hit from behind by a pickup truck. Emergency crews were quickly dispatched to the scene to provide aid to the involved parties. Despite life-saving support from responding officials, Green sustained fatal injuries and was later pronounced dead. Two people were transported to a hospital by ambulance for treatment of sustained injuries. No additional information on the crash is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is being managed by local law enforcement officials.

We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim at this time. Our thoughts also go out to the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.
