Cross Lanes, WV (June 10, 2025) – On Monday, June 9, an elderly man was killed in a pedestrian accident in the Cross Lanes area. The fatal accident took place on Goff Mountain Road early that morning at around 5 a.m. Local reports revealed that 86-year-old Dennis Eugene Taylor of Cross Lanes was traveling on foot when he was hit by a southbound vehicle.
Emergency crews were quickly dispatched to provide aid to the injured party. Taylor was rushed to the West Virginia University Medicine Thomas Memorial Hospital in critical condition where he was later pronounced dead. The area was temporarily closed as local authorities were present. No further information on the deadly accident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
