Charleston, WV (May 31, 2025) – On Friday, May 30, there were reported injuries following a car crash in the Charleston area. The accident occurred on Interstate 77 near the U.S. 119/Westmoreland Road exit that night at around 5:31 p.m. All southbound lanes were closed as a result of the crash. More than one vehicle was reportedly involved in the accident.
At least one person involved in the collision suffered injuries. The injured parties were aided at the scene before being transferred to a local hospital by ambulance. The severity and number of the resulting injuries have not been determined. No updates on the conditions of the involved parties have been provided. The area was temporarily closed while emergency crews were present. Tow trucks were later sent to clear the debris and reopen the roadway. Local law enforcement officials are conducting an ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash.
